Job Location: Whistler Sliding Centre

The Whistler Sliding Centre is home to the fastest ice track in the world. Since hosting the bobsleigh, skeleton and luge competitions during the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, the Whistler Sliding Centre continues to challenge the sports’ most elite athletes with international competitions, recruiting camps, and ongoing youth programs. Visitors are invited to tour the state-of-the-art facility, or experience the action first-hand with passenger bobsleigh (winter and summer) and skeleton rides (winter only) down part of the 1,450 meter-long ice track.
Bobsleigh Pilot is a skilled position that takes groups of guests down the track in a four person bobsleigh at the Whistler Sliding Centre.  Reporting to the Manager, Guest Services this role adheres to established track safety protocols.  This role requires flexibility to work weekends and evenings.

The Sport Coach delivers coaching, instructional and educational programs to guests of Whistler Olympic Park (WOP).  Reporting to the Supervisor, Sport School duties include excellent customer service and assisting clients in selection of products or services that most appropriately meet their needs.  Seasonal casual roles requiring the flexibility to assist the team with other activities or initiatives including the ability to work weekends, evenings and holidays.

The Supervisor, Sport School oversees the day-to-day scheduling and programing of the Sport School at Whistler Olympic Park.  Reporting to the Manager, Sport and Programming this role works collaboratively with other venue staff ensuring seamless and safe delivery of all WOP Sport School services including delivery of sport events and programs offered by sport user groups while ensuring seamless and friendly delivery of all WOP public programs and services.

Responsibilities include supervising all aspects of the Sport School:  training, Point-of-Sale system, scheduling, volunteers, Sport Coaches, and delivery of Whistler Sport Legacies’ guest service philosophy.  This is a seasonal full time role and requires flexibility to assist the team with other activities or initiatives including ability to work evenings and weekends as required.

The Snow Clearing Operator maintains all roads and parking lot facilities throughout Whistler Olympic Park using heavy equipment and plow trucks.  Seasonal casual and full time roles require ability to work weekends and evenings.

This position provides custodial services for the Whistler Sliding Centre.  Duties include: cleaning and maintenance of facility buildings including washrooms, offices, staff, and athlete areas.  This seasonal full time role requires ability to work weekends and evenings.

The Control and Timing Operator provides administrative and delivery support for all sport and public programs at Whistler Sliding Centre.  Responsibilities include monitoring camera and communication systems to formulate and issue clearances to athletes, coaches, staff, and visitors while executing track safety protocols. Seasonal full time position requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

The Track Medical Responder responsibilities include a wide range of duties including on venue First Aid, incident investigations, risk management, track maintenance, signage management, public relations, pathway watch, opening and closing of venue, and WSC venue evacuations.  Seasonal casual/part time/full time positions require flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

The Track Worker executes the safe and efficient operation of the Bobsleigh, Skeleton and Luge Track at Whistler Sliding Centre.  Under the direction of the Senior Supervisor, Track Operations / Supervisor, Track Operations, this role is responsible for all preparation, repairs and maintenance of the track.  Seasonal casual/part time/full time positions require flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

The Groomer Operators at Whistler Olympic Park ensure that every visitor to one of North America’s preeminent Cross Country Ski facilities has a chance to ski like an Olympian. The trail design and weather conditions of the Callaghan Valley provides an ideal challenge for the experienced operator to expand their skills and learn something new every day. Responsible for the day-to-day grooming and snow management of Whistler Olympic Park’s trail network and snow play areas to create an optimum experience for guests of all levels.  The safe and careful operation of a modern fleet of Pisten Bully and Prinoth snow cats, as well as snowmobile grooming equipment is required.  Seasonal full time and casual role(s) require the flexibility to work weekends and nights.

The Winch Cat Operator at Whistler Olympic Park plays a key role in developing athletes for future Olympics by providing ideal conditions to learn and train on. The precise requirements of Ski Jumping and weather conditions of the Callaghan Valley provide an ideal challenge for the experienced operator to expand their skills and learn something new every day. The Winch Cat Operator is responsible for the day-to-day grooming and snow management of the Whistler Olympic Park ski jumps, snow and ski play areas, baseboarding slope as well as assisting the trail groomers. The safe and careful operation of a modern fleet of Pisten Bully and Prinoth snow cats, as well as snowmobile grooming equipment is required.  Casual and Part Time roles require flexibility to work weekends and nights.

The Human Resources Assistant administratively supports the day-to-day operations of the human resource function at Whistler Sport Legacies.  Responsibilities for this part time entry level role include clerical support, interacting with colleagues to provide information related to policies, activities, processes, procedures, and prompt communication and resolution to all queries.

As the headquarters for the Whistler Adaptive Sports Program, and the Whistler Campus for the Canadian Sport Institute-Pacific, no other venue provides the level of accessibility and amenities for athletes like the Whistler Athletes’ Centre.
The Kitchen Porter / Lodge Attendant is responsible for maintaining a high level of cleanliness at the Whistler Athletes’ Centre including the kitchen, Lodge, Townhomes, and High Performance Centre.  This role is organized and friendly and works well within the team while demonstrating the Whistler Sport Legacies’ philosophy that All Interactions Matter (AIM).  This Full Time position requires flexibility to work weekends and evenings.

Job Location: Whistler Athletes Centre

The Whistler Athletes’ Centre is a high performance training and accommodation facility for all levels of sport, educational groups, and art & culture organizations. Built for the athletes of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, competitors continue to utilize the Whistler Athletes’ Centre for short-and long-term lodging and dryland conditioning. As the headquarters for the Whistler Adaptive Sports Program, and the Whistler Campus for the Canadian Sport Institute-Pacific, no other venue provides the level of accessibility and amenities for athletes like the Whistler Athletes’ Centre.
The Handyperson performs general preventative maintenance and repair duties for assigned buildings, furnishings, and equipment at Whistler Athletes’ Centre facilities.  Required duties include painting, basic carpentry, cement work, plumbing, and related work, in addition to responding to guest related issues.  This Regular Full Time position frequently works independently during evenings and some days, providing coverage for the Manager, Facilities.

Park Operations involves the general site maintenance of the Whistler Olympic Park.  Duties include but are not limited to building maintenance, trail maintenance, landscaping, capital projects work, assisting summer activity staff, custodial work, and event support.  This casual role and requires flexibility to work weekends and evenings.

The Lodge Attendant is responsible for maintaining a high level of cleanliness at the Whistler Athletes’ Centre including the Lodge, Townhomes and High Performance Centre.  This role is organized and friendly and works well within a team while demonstrating the Whistler Sport Legacies’ philosophy that All Interactions Matter (AIM).  This Temporary Full Time position requires flexibility to work weekends and evenings.
